I’m no photographer, so you’ll have to take my word that these are absolutely delicious! While I’ve called them chocolate cranberry bliss balls, the subtle taste of coconut mixed with the cranberries gives rise to a Cherry Ripe flavour.

Thankfully, I can now enjoy my favourite chocolate bar without all the nasties!

Using high-quality organic ingredients has recently become a priority in my life, so I’ve been experimenting with ways to turn some of my favourite treats into healthy, nourishing snacks.

Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • No-bake, easy-to-prepare recipe.
  • Fridge and freezer-friendly.
  • Made with readily available ingredients (organic or non-organic ingredients).
  • I love Bliss Balls, especially the no-bake kind, as they are easy and quick to make. I store mine in the freezer, so they’re ready whenever cravings call!

Key Ingredients

  • Dried cranberries add a tangy sweetness and a burst of flavour to the recipe, complementing the other ingredients while providing a dose of antioxidants and fibre.
  • Almond meal gives the recipe a subtle, nutty flavour and adds a moist, dense texture. It’s also rich in healthy fats, protein, and vitamin E, making it a nutritious, gluten-free option.
  • Medjool dates act as a natural sweetener and are rich in fibre and essential minerals, helping to boost energy and aid digestion.
  • Desiccated coconut adds a light, chewy texture and is a source of healthy fats that provide sustained energy.
  • Cacao gives the recipe a rich flavour while providing powerful antioxidants, magnesium, and iron.
  • Cinnamon complements the sweetness of the dates and cranberries and has anti-inflammatory properties that can help regulate blood sugar levels.
  • Dark chocolate is the ‘cherry on top’ in this recipe. What treat isn’t better with some chocolate?

Change It Up!

  • For those with nut allergies, coconut flour would make a great almond meal replacement. If gluten-free isn’t a priority, you could also use oat flour.
  • Want to use something other than organic? Switch out any of the ingredients for their non-organic version.

How To Make Organic Chocolate Cranberry Bliss Balls

I’m a fan of quick and easy recipes, and this recipe is just that!

  1. Roughly chop cranberries and medjool dates and soak in warm water for 5-10 minutes. Soaking can improve the effectiveness of blending in your food processor.
  2. While the cranberries and dates are soaking, combine the remaining ingredients (except the melted chocolate) in a bowl.
  3. Drain the cranberries and dates, and add the previously combined ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend until well combined. If your mixture is too dry, add tiny amounts of filtered water. You can also use more water on your hands when rolling into balls later.
  4. Remove the mixture from the food processor and place it in a bowl in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the mixture from the fridge and roll it into approximately 12-15 balls. You may need to wet your hands to help form the balls.
  6. Place balls in a freezer-safe container in the fridge or freezer to set.
  7. If desired, melt some chocolate with coconut oil and drizzle over the balls.
